What a perfect weather for doll photography today <3 Sunny and warm enough to survive without gloves a while - yet the snow was powdery and rather dry. I took Idris outside for a change:
Thanks for looking!:3
p.s. I decided that Idris is a qilin/kirin rather than just random magical creature, as she has horse hooves and deer antlers xD A good excuse to buy all kinds of Asian costumes for her, no? She's rather shy and rather hides in the dream world, but spotting her is a good omen and will bring you some good luck.

In a pink yukata
To celebrate our summer vacation, we went to a long walk and picnic today with my husband. The weather was so nice and sunny that I dragged a doll along, of course:
My Bluefairies love to steal the spotlight these days ;3 Can't help it, Idris is so cute in her new yukata. It's from Infinite Love, and I must admit I really drool over their fancier kimonos as well.
I hope to be able to purchase a yukata for myself from Japan, so we may match! <3
p.s. Sorry about similar poses, it's not easy to pose her with those Soom feet, especially outdoors!

A Japanese feeling
Some time ago me, Xaya and another friend joined forces and went together to shoot dolls in Roihuvuori's Japanese-style garden. I've visited the cherry park before to celebrate Hanami and will likely attend this year as well if the weather is nice. The garden was very nice, even if the weather wasn't really our friend - it was quite chilly and rainy :/ Luckily we did manage to get some photos before it started to rain:
That lovely troll boy is a friend's Bluefairy boy who made friends with Idris. They are two shy forest creatures after all.
Afterwards we were so cold and thirsty that we drove to a nearby shopping centre for refreshments:
Hot coffee and this delicious thing - a white chocolate cake filled with raspberries and sour cream. I'm not a big fan of overly sweet treats, but I'm a sucker for sour things mixed with sweetness. This tasted just as good as it looked.
And on my way home I spotted such nice cherry blossoms in our neighbourhood. The trees back in Roihuvuori were still blossoming, but this tree was blooming already really prettily. Too bad that it was behind a fence, so I didn't dare to try and put a doll up there. Oh well, it's not likely that the branches would have held a MSD anyway....
It was a good day and definitely inspired me to try to have more photography adventures in the future. I live in an area where we have lots of different cool places anyway <3
Hopefully the next post will be about the actual Hanami party!

Two tiny fairies
Pretty spring light today, too good to waste <3 I didn't have much time nor inspiration, but I did set up a tapestry and snapped two shots of my Bluefairy girls:
Both girls have new wigs: Idris' is Leeke's Royal Lavender, and Bibi's is a second-hand Crobidoll. It's a BEEP to handle as the hair goes everywhere. Luckily a spray of water and some combing tames it for a second, and I don't mind a messy hair as long as it's not on her face :<
Bibi also has some new crocheted things: I made her a new scarf and her cap is from jesmo. It's super cute ;3;

Idris reborn! (Bluefairy vs. Soom special parts.)
It was a good day to photograph a sort of new doll. Well, I've owned all her parts for a long while, but didn't use this combination before.
One of my most "popular" dolls has been Idris, my hooved pastel-themed fantasy girl. She used to be Soom's Kivi on Adamelli body, but something has been amiss. I must admit that Soom's MSDs just...don't click with me like they should. They are cute, but their face sculpts lack that something that I like my dolls to have. Their bodies are okay, but nothing spectacular and the hands are not nice. However I really like Idris' style and theme, so I haven't been able to let go.
On the other hand I own a really pretty Minoruworld's special Bluefairy Olive. Lovely girl, nothing wrong with her looks, I just didn't come up with a good story or style or anything. Okay, she looks cute in anything, fantastic. But who she really is? I need to know if I want to bond with a doll, if she's to inspire me to create.
A doll with a style but a dull form, a doll with a pretty form but dull style. See where this is going?
Some restringing and styling and lo and behold, a whole new Idris! And isn't she just the cutest little pony ever. She seems shy and reserved, gentle but childish at times, just how I've figured her character to be.
She also got new urethanes from MehiArt. I accidentally bought three pairs from her, whoops. It's not the best photo but they have little flowers in them <3 And they're so bright and sparkly!
Here'a a close up of her knees. The resin match is...well, let's say it isn't and I have no energy to consider any blushing options. But the match is otherwise surprisingly okay. I think Soom used Angelregion's MSD body as a base for their Little Gems, and Angelregion and Bluefairy share the same basic bodies. Bluefairy of course doesn't have the locking mechanism that Littlegem does, but she's able to stand and sit which is enough for me. Of course you'll have to string your doll really well and maybe get some sueding, and she won't be very steady. I wouldn't leave her standing without support as she's very likely to topple over.
Despite small problems she turned out very cute and inspiring doll <3 I have so many ideas what I could do with her.

Girl with hooves
Idris is finally ready, phew, this took a while! I asked the Finnish face-up-artist varjostin to do my Soomlings' faceups for the first time, and she did an excellent job. She has a great style which goes very well with my taste in dolls, so I think you'll see more of her work with my dolls in the future ;)
Kivi's head works very well with Idris, since I think she's very a gentle and happy girl even though her life's quite difficult and lonely. I don't know what exactly she is, she has Leeke's fox ears and horse hooves, so ummm...some sort of magical dream ponything, maybe? xD; Her twin brother Sindri (I call him 'Adanor' since he's Adamelli head + Nor body) is also faceupped, but the poor boy has no clothes and I'm not sure about his eyes...we'll see.

The fawn's new knits
I finished some knittings for Idris, a hat with beads, sequins and a filingree butterfly + a set of hoof-warmers. Made with Rose Mohair Lux, Novita's Rose Mohair is my favourite yarn for dolly knits these days. It's reasonably priced, very adequate and the colours are very pretty. You can also spot Idris' new ears which came from Leeke. Don't ask how they come through her hat, it's a very special dream magic. Leeke says they are fox ears but bah, they are so fawn ears it's not even funny!
Speaking of hats, my hats did quite well in this year's Ldoll <3 Thanks to all who bought or at least looked! I have some big plans regarding the next year, but you'll hear more of them later ;3
And finally, since I did make some profit with my sales, there just might be some new resin coming. Not yet, I promised to order together with a friend who needs some time to arrange her things, but this winter anyway. My first anthro doll :D I hope everyone's doing great in the dolly front!
p.s. Blogger's new interfece is bit confusing but quite nice, don't you think?

Needles have sung
I of course forgot to photograph the pile of knitted hats I made for Ldoll, but here's one sample of some of the new designs. I love all things striped and circus-themed as I'm quite sure you've already noticed ;3
And I finished Idris' first outfit, consisting of a corset top and lace skirt. I think I've found her colour scheme, it's creamy and quite natural. Yay!

Idris
Something pretty arrived here! She's Idris, Soom's loveable Adamelli and the first of my second pair of twin MSDs. Her brother, Sindri, has been fully paid as well.
She needs a restringing and thicker elastics, the ones that Soom used are so thin. Maybe some sueding to her knees while we're at it? Faceup? A proper outfit instead of things I just dug up and tossed all over her? A background story? This may take a while, but luckily she is very pretty even now.
