That mad she-wolf
Happy Ebay shopping brought me some new things: a photography background (damn that thing is impossible to get un-wrinkly!) and a stand, finally. Now I can photograph Hecate standing without having to fear for those precious claw hands. I'm quite sure they would go all over the place if she fell ^^; She also has new clothes that I bought and made - the corset top and the shrug are by yours truly. I love sewing on details ;3
They call Hecate "the butterfly queen" but she's really a mad she-wolf. Old, strong, smart, crazy and has a temper of a volcano. She surely brings chaos wherever she goes, but she's the most dedicated mother ever. One of my favourite characters, and I really should write about her, I know...

Roses for the tiny dragon
I recently finished yet another craft project: a new dress for my little Lami, Apsu.
The pattern was simple, but this still took a while because of all the embroidery. The symbol is called "the dragon's eye" - I picked it because it was easy to create and Apsu's character is a half-dragon. I used this tutorial to decorate the bodice, it's one of my favourites.
Apsu's new Mehiart eyes, pink like her aunt's! (Meital) She has some scale pattern around her eyes too. I should glue some eyelashes on...
--
And a shot "behind the scenes" :D We have a small apartment so there simply is no room for a permanent doll studio - so I use a foldable reflector, stool and some boards I looted from a previous job. They go nicely behind our bookshelf when not in use. A good tripod is also very useful! This setup is easy to build where there is most daylight available and to store afterwards. I wouldn't mind having a permanent setup but it's not possible right now. Maybe in the future when we have a bigger home?

The butterfly queen
I finally recieved Hecate's human head and claw hands from Jesmoth, so it means my dark lady is complete. Which of course means some mandatory photography spam <3

Pink half-dragon
I don't remember if I mentioned it here, but I was trying to sell or trade my Adamelli - Nor boy since I didn't really play with him as much as I had wanted. These days it seems that smaller boy dolls don't really get enough attention here, and for now I think I'll keep Aegis (Angelregion Ami, my first BJD ever) as the only smaller boy of the house. But I managed to trade Ada-nor to something very cute!
This is Apsu, Soom Lami, Lochesh's daughter. Her mother is Tiamat, Illves' Migma, which makes her a half-dragon since Tiamat is a dragon and Lochesh is...well, some kind of a dream creature. She's not very bright, unable to talk, but she's very social, friendly and happy little girl. Bleroorgh!
Her father is going through a mold change but he too should be home soon. I thought to try to give him a faceup myself, although I'm still not good ^^; But I've invested in some tools so I really should put them to an use, and Lock should be the easiest of my dolls to faceup since his style is very natural.
But Lami is so cute ^3^

The butterfly lady

And all right, I managed to come up with a style, a story and a character which are all now very much alive in my head, and so I ordered her <3 No, she won't be a vampire xD (I've never cared about vampires.) A tragic nightmere lady with tons of black butterflies, an old diva who is sad, bitter, dignified, beautiful and little crazy. I've already stocked up some sewing supplies for her, black, violet and gold with ethnic/Indian influences - and yes, I ordered her my most expensive pair of doll shoes. Almost 60 dollars for a single pair of doll shoes + shipping? Yeah, I'm quite crazy. But they're so stylish, they remind me of Alexander Macqueen *_*
One payment to go! I just need to find her a perfect name xD

Girl with hooves
Idris is finally ready, phew, this took a while! I asked the Finnish face-up-artist varjostin to do my Soomlings' faceups for the first time, and she did an excellent job. She has a great style which goes very well with my taste in dolls, so I think you'll see more of her work with my dolls in the future ;)
Kivi's head works very well with Idris, since I think she's very a gentle and happy girl even though her life's quite difficult and lonely. I don't know what exactly she is, she has Leeke's fox ears and horse hooves, so ummm...some sort of magical dream ponything, maybe? xD; Her twin brother Sindri (I call him 'Adanor' since he's Adamelli head + Nor body) is also faceupped, but the poor boy has no clothes and I'm not sure about his eyes...we'll see.

Idris

Something pretty arrived here! She's Idris, Soom's loveable Adamelli and the first of my second pair of twin MSDs. Her brother, Sindri, has been fully paid as well.
She needs a restringing and thicker elastics, the ones that Soom used are so thin. Maybe some sueding to her knees while we're at it? Faceup? A proper outfit instead of things I just dug up and tossed all over her? A background story? This may take a while, but luckily she is very pretty even now.

The beginning of autumn

Oh, it's September. Goodbye, summer, it's time for my favourite season. Loving all the crispy colours and the fresh smells <3
In the dolly front, little revamps here and there. Aegis recieved a new faceup from one of my eternal faves, Jesmo, and is looking almost too cute. He matches very well with his sister now, I should continue their story once my second set of MSD twins arrive. Speaking of them, I should get the first one home soon and just paid the second one. Thank you, Soom, or curse you...
Along with re-vamped Aegis, I got my big man home as well. He has some scarwork done and is looking so fabulous now *3* I should get my hands dirty and him restrung so I could take photos...

Birds and strange things

Hmm, all the recent posts have been about my bird-themed dolls. Well, here is one more :D I took a photoshoot with Krähe and Hildegard, my Yrie who loves to boss poor Krähe around. She's a gutsy little thing.

Big birdie feets

Ehm, I bought Soom Galena's talons for Krähe :B What else can you really say about this except that I seem to have quite the addiction for birdie parts on BJDs? When my Nor arrives, I need to take a comparison photo of Soom's birdie feets as I will own them in all three sizes. Heaven forbid if I start lusting after Euclase's feet!
The feet sit okay on his Volks SD10, of course it feels and shows that they are not made to go together but he is able to stand and sit. And hey, Volks SD10 is not the best poser anyway and mine has a missing piece on the left knee, so I'm very used to him having difficulties to stand. I'd rather not mod anything because a) the re-sell value will go down b) I suck at it. So if they work, I shall keep him as he is, a little knee-handicapped birdie boy. Now he just needs a pair of pants...

The shadow prince

This is Senka, my Soom Bygg / Dikadoll hybrid. He is a shadow boy of the dreams, a servant of the nightmeres who has almost complitely forgotten who he once was. The shadow has almost complitely taken him and turned him ash grey. You can see the corruption on his neck and face. But something remains which still keeps him in a human form. What is it that you seek, Senka?

Senka and Hilde, my two Soom tinies. So different...
